Life in the Inner City: Violence as a Mental Health Determinant

Overview:
As an undergraduate Public Health student, I chose to take a course in health geography. This course introduced me to the investigation of health trends within a geographic context.
  • Health Geography: Issues of human health and wellness, investigated through the lens of 'place' and 'space.' Place and space can include all ecological components that pertain to the ethos of a specific location.
I want to share my case study which includes the following:
  • Data about violence in the inner city
  • Specific mental health struggles resulting from violence
  • Mental health services in Columbus Ohio
  • Praise, critiques and suggestions for these services
